I’ve been in Haiti now for over a week, and the aftershocks continue… Yesterday morning, while sitting down, I felt a very sharp jolt. The whole house shook - sort of like a big truck passing by.
Went north of Port-au-Prince to a gigantic, desolate lot near Titanyen. The lot has been used as a burial ground with tens of thousands of unidentified earthquake victims buried in huge pits dug by bulldozers.
I hopped on a motorcycle and took a tour of downtown which is the most affected part of Port-au-Prince. The unbelievable devastation makes the area look like a war zone. I was completely shocked at the end of the day when, amidst the rubble, I saw a human leg bone sticking out of a pair of pants!
