A recent article in Haiti’s Le Matin newspaper has quoted 65 year old geologist and former professor at the Geological Institute of Havana, Patrick Charles, as stating that “conditions are ripe for major seismic activity in Port-au-Prince. The inhabitants of the Haitian capital need to prepare themselves for an event which will inevitably occur...”

Compas Music superstar Michael Benjamin appears to be taking his craft to a completely new dimension with the release of his new single “I’m Loving my Life”. It has a very pop/hip-hop, upbeat feeling to it, and is getting positive feedback on the Internet. It’s a huge departure from the Compas of his group Krezi Mizik, and it will remain to be seen if it will have any cross-over appeal as well as if it will be embraced by the Haitian community.
