Flag day? What flag?
The Haitian flag?
Does Haiti still have a flag
While we are under occupation?
Everywhere we are celebrating,
But at home, foreign military forces
Are occupying each corner,
Raping our daughters and sisters.
You have the right to celebrate,
And I have the right to say:
"No celebration until Haiti is free!"

HAPPY FLAG DAY everyone.

The ancestors had a dream. Only we and our children can make sure the dream comes true and stays alive.

Yes Haiti is under occupation, but people have been dying for 205 years for this flag. Embrace it! Kiss it! Celebrate it!

Vive 18 Mai!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our occupation is our own doing...so stop the whining and start the celebrating that after all the conflict and problems...we are still here...stronger than ever. Celebrate Le Drapeau...the beautiful Bicolore of the Blue & Red. Happy May 18th people.

Not celebrating 18 Mai, our flag day would be an insult to:

1] Our country Haiti

2] Our Hero Dessalines who was inspired to tear the white off the French flag and retain both blue & red pieces until he arrived to Arcahaie to visit his adviser "Gran'n Guiton" who then referred him to her seamstress neighbor...

3] Catherine Flond who took the time to sew our first Bicolore on this date 18 Mai 1803...

Not celebrating 18 Mai is like not celebrating 1 Janvier... in my opinion.

...we are still here...stronger than ever.

Yeah! Stronger than ever with more hunger than ever... and with troops from more than ten countries occupying Haiti. The French army came back 200 years later to the land of Dessalines. And now people are talking about the Haitian flag... even celebrating flag day! Get rid of your fake pride and patriotism.
