Tibobo is the one making sense.

There is no dictator look.

As HaitianQueen pointed out.....ruthless leaders come in all shapes.

It is not just about one man, it is about a system of control that he was able to put in place and maintain.

The beauty of it is that he did not have the military might to back it up...it was mostly a mind game.

Papa Doc was the only one able to transfer power to an heir which allowed duvalierism to continue even in his absence.

Even haitians outside of haiti were reluctant to criticize him out loud.

He truly "zombified" the haitian people.

With grander vision he could have pushed Haiti forwards just as many other dictators have done......but alas.

What a missed opportunity.

Francois Duvalier did one hell of a job on the society, didn't he?

The man was "Big Brother" in the flesh LOL

And the funny thing about it is.....well just look at him

haiti-duvalier-f.jpg

This was the menace!? TTTuuuiiippp!!!

Sorry but we have to start being fearful of people who at least look fearful.

He would be kidnapped himself in this day in age.. LOL LOL

O.K. I'm done for the night.

See you all in July!!!!

The silent ones are the most vicious ones. You never know when those silent dogs will attack. Whereas, you can watch yourself and be careful when a dog barks. You know the saying...

Looking at the man's features, he doesn't look menacing in the sense that he would overpower you. I think the fact that he is small and unassuming gives him a look like a magical weird looking thing. He looks creepy.
