May they rest in peace. My condolences to the families. I really enjoy BC's music and think they are just about the best when it comes to Haitian Hip Hop right now.

Oh my goodness. How much bad news can we get in one weekend? I'm almost at a loss for words. This group was definitely doing their thing. They were more than up and coming and were poised to put Kreyol Hip-Hop on the international map.

I hope this gets people talking about road safety in Haiti. Most roads are n poor condition, and many people sometimes drive like maniacs. I don't know the details of this accident, but this is a problem that has o be addressed.

Many condolences to family, friends and fans.

According to Haiti Press Network, it appears that they may have been electrocuted after the car touched an electric cable!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
le groupe Barikad Crew décimé dans un tragique accident
Les trois chanteurs du groupe Barikad Crew (R n B) sont morts samedi dans un terrible accident de la circulation sur la route de l?aéroport alors qu?ils étaient en route pour participer à un concert d'anniversaire de Radio Caraïbe, a appris HPN.
Selon les témoignages recueillis par des reporters de Haïti Press Network, le batteur du groupe et leur chauffeur ont également péri dans l?accident.
« Le véhicule à bord duquel se trouvaient les chanteurs Marko, Dade et le leader du groupe Katafal, a chaviré et a pris feu après avoir été touché par un câble électrique », ont rapporté des jeunes qui se sont rendus sur le lieu du drame.
Les occupants seraient morts suite l'électrocution du véhicule.
« Les corps défigurés ont été retrouvés calcinés à l'intérieur de la voiture dans un état indescriptible », a raconté une jeune admiratrice du groupe.
Depuis hier soir de nombreux fans des musiciens, notamment des jeunes filles très émues et profondément choquées, continuent de défiler au quartier général du groupe pour saluer leur mémoire.
Absolutely unbelievable. You would be surprised at how many deaths by electrocution occur in Haiti. Bare electric cables can sometimes be seen hanging loose, and it doesn't get fixed for days. People take "prise" (wiretaps) and leave dangerous cables exposed. The list goes on and on.
Sometimes, since there may be no electricity, a potential problem can go unnoticed for months, then when the electricity comes back on and there is a rain storm, people get electrocuted. In Haiti, any place with electric cabling is an accident waiting to happen.
They got into an accident and could have been recovering from broken bones or something...but due to what is most likely poor maintenance, now they are dead.
These people managed to influence an entire generation. I can't say I'm the biggest fan of them and rap kreyol, or that I've been with them from the beginning. but I can give my props. They literally came from the bottom, and rose up. They made quite the breakthrough in Haiti; a country where you're not guaranteed a successful career when you don't have access to some resources as some people are born guaranteed. In the music industry, we've mostly had people with high connections made it and etc...They have greatly influenced the youth of Haiti; to incorporate their frustration, poetry and anger into lyrics. To provide them with a voice. Very sad day indeed...
