Why don't you add a Spanish section to the forum, where all those that can speak Spanish can also interact with the millions of Latin Americans as well?

It'll be a first and ground breaking for a forum to hold discussions in the most prevalent languages...

A new Haitixchange indeed!

Just an idea...

We've actually been discussing this in the Kreyòl forum.

http://haiti.pmhclients.com/index.php/forums/viewthread/23/#91 (It's all in Kreyòl.)

I will be creating a Spanish forum at the request of GanitoBiboa. He will be a moderator, but I'm looking for an additional moderator. Are you interested? If yes, I'll be sending you information when I set it up. One of the moderator responsibilities would be to make sure that the forum posts are strictly in Spanish.

That'll give me a chance to practice my Spanish, so yay.

When will the Chinese section be up?

We should make sure that the Spanish section moderator(s) understand fluent Spanish so that they can moderate accordingly. We know how certain groups of people who speak Spanish can use this section to bash/criticize/insult Haiti. We should make it so that those who commit offenses like that are given a warning...then banned.

We need to be careful because the moderators whouls not become dictatorial. We still have freedom of speech. Crticism is ok except when it is done just for the sake of being hateful or insulting. The moderators need to make sure they are fair when they review posts.

I 100% agree with you but how can we know whether or not the modertor(s) speak or understand fluent spanish? except for RPichardo which case is known by almost everyone here. How can a moderator prove to Coolp he's actually a fluent spanish speaker. Exemple: in my case I speak for languages fluently but I cannot prove it and I certainly don't think it would be fare by only posting some words in spanish in a thread.

We all have free speech but there still should be some level of post moderation. Constructive criticism and even outright direct criticism of Haiti or anything Haitian is acceptable however I have engaged in countless battles with the unwanted (95% of the time being a Dominican) and although I have no problems with our neighbors and in fact have many Dominican friends...there are those nationalist anti-Haitian cyberfools that live simply to bash our country and culture. We all know about them (people like Pamela...whom I only know about through scouring old posts). I simply want to keep distracting emotionally charged negativity from infiltrating Haitixchange.

I'll help you to the extent of my abilities!

I know that once the forum is running, plenty other HaitiXchange members with Spanish control and from the Haitian perspective will handle the load pretty well!
