I am walking away with many more questions. Moreover, I have just returned to my home from a family gathering and my AA wife just finished telling me how she experienced those same self loathing sentiments from two of my sisters. This is a disease the world over.

I ma not MJ expert, but I would like to say this regarding the fact that his kids do
not look mixed. Well there is a family that I know for quite some years (1993).
my friend Suzie, her mother Julie and her grandmother Mary. Mary is Haitian
and Had Julie with an Haitian dude. Later one she remarried a french canadian dude.
Julie, Suzie and Marie all lived with the French Canadian dude and another french canadian
girl named Sophie. Sophie was the French canadian's dude's daughter. Like her father
she is vety fair skinned, grey eyes, straight black hair, freckles and behave and talk just
like ordinary French Canadian.
Let folks, only recently (Thursday) that I learned that Sophie's mother is not French Canadian
but Mary, the same haitian lady above. Sophie just look straight white, there is nothing that
could tell that she is hald black. Mind you Mary is not a lightskin or anything like that.
The condition is called "self hate" and many blacks especially blacks in third world countries suffer from it.
I have a different reading on this. You are ignoring the context in which some of the Jacksons did their physical transformation. They simply decided to follow a western model of beautification and that's totally acceptable. If a black person tries to acquire characteristics common among whites you call it self-hated. By let me paraphrase J.H.C, a Dominican essayist, when a White person comes to the Caribbean to get a tan, do you call it self-hated? I think that the Jackon have less of a problem with race than what some you the posters have in the XH seem to suggest...Anyway, what they do with their bodies is none of your business. Let us learn to respect people's choices. Stop hating the Jacksons. Your comments reflect more insecurity on your part than the self-hate you attribute to them.

Well it wasn't only related to skin color .....There was a motive to intentionally try to look feminine. The illness is an addiction to be genderless rather than racial hatred, in my opinion.The craze started in the 80s of genderless males and I think he got addicted to it due to the high fame......Japanese Artists have the same issues as well.

Boy had difficulty dealing with who he was! Stayed high half the time! He also talked about how his friends, in college, who were of mixed race harped on that "mixed race" thing so not to deal with their Africanness/blackness! Now them folks on dem' islands like dem' Puerto Ricans can be as dark as pitch and still say they aren't black! Those Dominicans...at least some of the ones on here tend to have issue too! I don't get it?! What is wrong with being black?! We are the most noble and gifted people gracing this damn planet! We have survived the almost unsurvivable! Ya'll can't see that?! Those Europeans break their necks coming to Africa studying our culture, spiritual systems etc. etc. We got folks all over the world copying our music, sports, style etc. etc. Even when we are at our worst we are copied (gangsta rap etc.).
