[size=3]Laughing out loud with the locals
The local "crazy" man

Apparent quite the beloved character among the town folks

Reminds me so much of a man I knew named Toussaint. Looks exactly like him except Toussaint was bald.
Toussaint was the sweetest, most harmless and innocent guy I've ever known. Just like a kid. Unfortunately, wasn't right in the head. He survived on the streets doing odd jobs. Even though everyone loved him and his sweet demeanor, they'd take advantage of him and would take his money. He was such a helpful guy and quite the character that my mom took to him. She'd encourage not to roam the streets anymore and everyday, he would be at our house. Slept and ate there too. I had so much as a kid talking and hanging out with him. Although a lot of times it was because of the craziest things he'd say, it was all in good thoughts. In 2003 after my family left Haiti, we learned that he went briefly to his hometown. Don't know what happened, perhaps he had a stroke (he was around 40), but he died suddenly. No one is sure of what happened or the details.
Rest in peace, Toussaint.
