We all know that a country like Haiti fairs differently depending on whether there is a Republican or Democrat in the U.S. White House. In the past, certain individual presidents have also been especially sympathetic to Haiti's plight. The people of Haiti are absolutely aware that their futures often depend on who is in the White House. How do you think Haiti will do if any of the presidential hopefuls is in the Oval Office?

Oh, no doubt, being half African himself, I know Obama would look out for Haiti. The last president that ever really took Haiti seriouslyu was Jimmy Carter. Bush is all about bombing places. Shock and Awe!!!

You already know Obama is the next president of the US. I've known it for the last two years. Although I voted Obama, I really am unsure whether it will make a difference. Most of us have a minimal understanding of the evils countries like Haiti face. The current manufactured food crisis around the world is only the begining of distress to come. Black folks are in big trouble and Obama cannot save us except to the extent that he may if a skillful statesman be able to divert wasteful war expenditures to people needs here and overseas; the greater effort however is our responsiblity. Clinton is a light version of the status quo and McCain is an IRI Board Member and that group is singularly responsible for the last coup in Haiti. I am more aprehensive today than at any other time except the years 1963 to 1965 when I still resided in Haiti. I better stop before I get everybody down...

Well some one just admitted, that our president sits in US white house. That’s the mentality that plays part in Haiti’s crises right now because we look for others to govern the country.

Ok, Obama is doing very well and it looks like he will get the Democratic party nomination. A historical event since it will be the first time an African-American has gotten this far in a presidential race.

Question: If Obama had the same charisma, character, and personality, but was of a darker persuasion, would he have made it this far?

I'm surprised that Jesus Christ hasn't made his mark on this thread yet. In fact I haven't heard from JC ever since the site came back up. Heavenly duties I assume...lol.
