The way we got this interview was very interesting. We were eating at Asiette Creole in Petionville because it was the only thing open on January 12th, and happened to run into Shabba. (I didn't even recognize him since it was the first time I had seen him in person without the dreads.) We asked him for an interview and he was more than willing. Since we are in Haiti, I don't even think it occurred to us to have this interview in any other language but Creole. Personally, I think he spoke very sincerely and expressed himself very well.
