Newspapers in Port-au-Prince yesterday were buzzing with the news that the talk-show queen is due there on Saturday.
She is apparently going to interview actor Sean Penn there for her new series called “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” set to debut next month.

Local officials are hoping exposure on the new show will help bring tourists back to the island.

“We want to ensure that Ms. Winfrey shows beautiful images of Haiti, not just the camps,” Haiti’s minister of foreign affairs told one local paper.

she will most certainly show the squalor in the camps. how the heck else will she get ratings?

she will probably announce a new ngo. but i'm hoping she instead build and finance a nice school like the one the dr is building, or invest in something that will help life move forward down there.

If the misery of Haiti’s poor is not caused by their nature, but by institutions, great is the sin.

I just told my mom about it and she was happy. She said that it's great because she (Oprah) has been to Africa and probably could do the same for Haiti. We will have to see...

Hollywood actresses, Maria Bello, Kim Kardashian and Patricia Arquette were scheduled to arrive Thursday in Haiti's capital for philanthropic activities and would also be interested in investing in the country, Haiti Press Network has learned.

"These Hollywood stars will spend three days on the national territory. They will donate and explore business opportunities in the country," said HPN has a government source.

Maria Bello is an American actress who played alongside Johnny Depp in the movie "Secret Window\" in 2004 and in several American television series.

Kim Kardashian is also a great actress a reality show on U.S. television. She will be accompanied by her mother, Kris Jenner and her brother Rob Kardashian during this trip to Haiti.

American actress Patricia Arquette has appeared in films such as popular "Stigmata," "True Romance" and "the Dead". She is the former wife of Nicolas Cage.

These three figures are added alongside Oprah Winfrey, Corneille, Elephant Man, Robert Deniro, Fat Joe, Ne-Yo and Wyclef Jean in Haiti that are expected for the holiday season.

Exactly what I'm saying. Everyone is already jumping to conclusions. We will just have to see what happens...
