HaitiXchange

Everyone and their grandmothers are going to Haiti these days. The latest is rapper Lil Wayne who will be performing at Parc Canne a Sucre in Tabarre. It appears he will be part of a concert special. We’re not sure how much the tickets are going for, but he is part of a long list of performers who are stepping in Haiti for the first time, either to provide humanitarian help, or give a straight out performance. The latest performer of note was Neyo, who wooed crowds who were all too familiar with his music. Lil Wayne is also very popular in Haiti as both local and American hip-hop music have taken the country by storm for quite some years now.

I wonder who's putting this one on. The so-called NeYo performance had some backstage drama. I heard he had no clue he was performing until he got there. Hence that crap performance he put on. I hope this goes well. The youth have been waiting for this guy same way they waited for Rozay.

I saw the Rick Ross performance and it looked packed. I want to ask something. Is Rick Ross Haitian? or is just from South Florida? Does anybody know?

He had no clue he was performing but he made a video weeks before he went to Haiti to thank Martelly for the invitation?

What did he assume he was coming to do? Run way model or visiting Sean Penn? LOL I find that hard to believe

I was in Haiti when Ne-Yo was there, and everyone knew he was going to perform, so I don't see how he didn't know this. (Weren't you there around the same time?) as far as Lil Wayne goes, the Hatian youth have been waiting for him for ages. I've even seen Tap Taps with his picture on them.

The story goes that he was "forced" into it. Supposedly word around was that Ne-Yo and his camp were told that he was going to a fundraiser but later found out that this was a full on sold out concert with him as the main act.

Trust me when I say I don't believe it myself. Either that or NeYo has the dumbest team around.

You may very well be right. Despite what all the posters said, and what everyone thought, no where in this announcement he made does he mention anything about a performance.

Exactly and he never made any mentions of any performances on facebook either. Even when he tweeted about Haiti I don't remember him tweeting about any performances. But I still blame his team. All they had to do was google NeYo and Haiti and they'd see the NeYo and T-Vice flyers and news of him going to perform. LOL
