Did Michelle have an expensive taste in designer clothes? Yes. But as far as style is concerned I wouldn't call her some sort of style icon. Haitian women were already dressing like this to begin with. Michelle was just publicly photographed and filmed. I have pictures of my grandmother and aunts and they wore the same style of dress, same heels, even wore their hair the same way Michelle did and still do. They may not have been in Givenchy's summer collection or Chanel Haute Couture but they were all wearing the same thing. Everyone was trying to look like some Parisian woman or look like they've just stepped off a set from "Dynasty." A reflection of the time.

But I get it. She's arguably all we have in terms of photographs so .... carry on...

Style icon? I don't think I ever said she was but she has style. Ok, you have pics of women in your fam who dress like her, but they probably didn't have presence that Michele has. Plus put 2 DIFFERENT women in the same outfit you get different results. That doesn't mean their all going to look good. There aren't really any photos of Haitian women who dressed like Michele that I have seen. So, the only choice would be is to put pics of Michele Bennett. I agree, they weren't dressing in Christian Dior or Chanel but the quality, style, service... is different. There always going to be copycats of big fashion houses.

I read somewhere that her wedding gown was Givenchy. I think I'm right... It's beautiful and detailed.

Paid for with the blood of the Haitian people...LITERALLY!

Oh, Benz. I know, but you can't deny the fact that she had style.

She's a pig. I can't look past that fact...

Ok... Let's focus on the style, which I was focusing on in the first place, your not saying something people don't already know. I think that's one of the problems with the Haitian people. Move on! The past is the past, we can't do anything about it. Why dwell on it?

Thank you Alain... just a pig with lipstick.

I'm not trying to mess up your style section Jojo. I'm actually in the fashion business so I find it interesting. But can't you find a better style icon...smh.

I feel the opposite as you. The "problem" with Haitian people is that we are too forgiving and let people get away with too much mess.

Where are guys getting this style icon from? Cool P told me I should stay on topic so I am. What other Haitian women could I have thought of? Can you name one for me from Haiti? and please nothing tacky... I think you guys are being biased. I"M PAYING ATTENTION TO HER STYLE! not on what she has done wrong. What I said about "Move on!" was specifically about Michele what can we do about it? She's living her life in France, not even bothering about Haiti why dwell on it? I'm not saying we should forgive for everything but some things you just need to let go. Move forward not back...

You're asking what other Haitian woman you could have posted and there are some. If you wanted to be creative you could show us the styles of Emeline Michel or Yole Derose. We have two new beauty queens (Sarodj & Anedie) and you could show us photos of them. Or you could go old school and show us old iconic beauty queens like Miss Fouchard. You could post pics of designs of the new bags Phelicia Dell has come out with. Or what about the new shirts the Tardieu brothers have cooked up over at Bogosse. Why not profile some Haitian models or stylists? Most of the people are here to learn something new not look at rehashed pics of Michelle Bennet. Hopefully those ^^ aren't too tacky for you.

I did started posting on Sarodj Bertin but nobody took interest in them so I deleted them, plus she is tacky so I wasn't suprised that nobody took interest. Nobody wants to see rehashed pics of Michele? If I show pics of Sarodj Bertin or Anedie it's the same old shit, plus they are beauty queen they don't really style themselves or buy their own clothes. How come when I post pics of Michele I get a reaction but Sarodj nothing? So exactly I made my point, I want to put REAL Fashion/Style not Anedie/Sarodj wearing prom dresses. I will look into the other women you mentioned and maybe Anadie... Let's see what I find.

Eventhough she wasn't a good first lady, because of all the money she took from the country bank, but she was a fashion icon .I can definetly compare her style to jaqueline kennedy etc. She did have a good sense of style, always look apart.
