The police recently announced their wish to increase the police force to 30,000 officers......the director also mentioned the police force is under 15,000 today.
If this joker is correct that this private militia, Milice Rose, is over 15,000 members.......they've outnumbered the police.
If the military is reinstated, you can expect a military coup before martelly's five years is up. Thats all they are good for.....toppling governments and interfering in politics.
These guys should pick up their arms and show the world what they are made of.....by going against MINUSTAH
Now that is one show I would love to watch.
Si MINISTA me't yon tank kanpe devan baryè-a, sa'k pa rann tèt yo de men anlè a'p pran lanmè sou povant yo. Se yon wont pou Lachanm kite tenten sa yo a'p fèt! Sanble depite a'k senatè yo konplis tou!

Andresol also said that out of 4000 applicants only 244 PNH recruits qualified to become officers. That's a very troubling statistic.

BTW you realize there is no milice rose right?
Unqualified applicants? What's your point? The paramilitary would be more qualified? Haiti has a pop. approx. 9.5 million people, huge percentage under age 30.......don't worry, we have a large pool to pick from.
And yes, there is a Milice Rose.
Milice as named after the french paramilitary and Rose after the person who inspired and encouraged creation of the makeshift army......Crackhead himself......Rose because president's chosen color for propaganda......Hence, Milice Rose.

Thanks for explaining but this milice rose thing is in people's heads.
There's a large pool but they are incredibly unprepared. My guess is that Andresol was implying that the young in Haiti are undereducated and undisciplned. They could not make it through the academy.
CALL THEM WHAT YOU WANT.....BUT DON'T CALL THEM NON EXISTENT
Haiti: Armed men in uniform besiege the Chamber of Deputies
Wednesday, 18 April 2012 16:42
PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht)- Tuesday, April 12, armed men in uniform besieged the Chamber of Deputies urging parliamentarians to ratify the appointment of Laurent Lamothe as Prime Minister. Furious, the chairman Levaillant Louis-Jeune suspended the meeting and demanded Executive to take measures against those he described as "armed bandits".
President of the Lower House, Levaillant Louis-Jeune, decided Tuesday afternoon to suspend for a period of 24 hours the day's session in protest against the attempt to break into the Parliament of several uniformed and armed individuals urging to ratify the Prime Minister designate, Laurent Lamothe.
Reacting strongly to this intrusion, the Member denounced the presence of "armed bandits" having disrupted the functioning of the parliamentary institution by requiring the government to decide on this.
"It's really worrying that gunmen besieged the Parliament", stated angry Congressman Louis-Jeune who, with his colleagues, had just formed a commission to analyze the case of Prime Minister-designate.
Congressman Arnel Belizaire, a former member of the former Armed Forces of Haiti, had earlier unsuccessfully tried to convince his colleagues to voluntarily accept the delegation of soldiers who said they wanted to inform elected officials that the power was planning to launch an attack against the remobilized military.
The session was postponed until Wednesday before the unwelcome visitors, arrived in camouflage on vehicles, decided to walk away.
This is the first such incident recorded in the Haitian Parliament since the resurgence in recent months in several parts of the country of groups of armed individuals, including young people, claiming to be soldiers of a new armed force in Haiti.
Despite repeated denunciations of various sectors of the population, these armed men continue to occupy Port-au-Prince and in the provinces of the former military sites and government and never miss an opportunity to parade in streets.
President Michel Martelly pledged to restore the military, but without the financial support of the international community to carry forward his plan to create a new army.
Only a country as inept as Haiti is would allow people with weapons to take over government property, start directing vehicular traffic, creating tensions in the neighborhood and do nothing to arrest these people. This is a damn joke!!!
