Afghanistan was where we should of focus all on after 9/11 but Bush dropped the ball on that one . He went after Saddam and Saddam's fictitious stockpile of WMDs

We cant just leave and pick up our things, and do what we did during the Regan administration where we help the Mujahideen push out the communist and turn our backs.

The Afghan war, had purpose unlike Iraq which was total failure and waste of resources all thanks to Neocons/ Rethugs

What was the purpose?

To capture OBL? Really?

Well our idiot president attacked the WRONG country; shouldn't he of invaded Pakistan?

Military intelligence told him that OBL had escaped into Pakistan in 2007, but he still invaded Afghanistan.

He invades the WRONG country, but, because he's a Democrat, his "war" is noble and good unlike the Re publican's war.

The anti-American, highly corrupt, Karzai, is STILL president, just as he was in 2009 when Obama invaded.

Saddam is long gone and Karzai remains.

Iraq's terrorist groups have been disbanded but they're stronger than ever in Afghanistan and lined up by the thousands for their return from Pakistan.

Obama's War has been an abject FAILURE.

Now, all of the Pro-War (formerly anti-war) Democrat's are circling the waggons to protect this FAILURE and the death of thousands of men and women

So if the military intelligence knew back in 2007 which is information that was passed to Bush and his team where were they on OBL are you admitting to failure of Dubya on national security. Slipped into Pakistan from Tora Bora

One more time, WHAT was the purpose of Obama's War?

Was it worth 2000 young American lives?

When did you become "Pro-War"?

Again if bush had the chance why not take OBL out ?

And again I'm not for the pro-war nor will i ever be I want our men and women in uniform to come home as soon as possible but not just pick and go and leave the Afghans on their own.

You can highlight all the articles and you still wont answer my question if the republican are so great on foirgn policy and national scuirty how did they let OBL slip under thier radar

Girl,

You give the US Military, any military, too much credit.

You are very naive to believe that the US Military can pinpoint a single individual without seeing him and "take him out".

Where do you get the loony left logic?

Osama was in Pakistan. Perhaps you are not aware, but Pakistan is a COUNTRY and not a side street.

Knowing he's in a COUNTRY doesn't tell you what house within that country.

Understand? Country is much BIGGER than a house.

Now, what was the purpose of Obama's war that you so steadfastly support?

Why did he invade Afghanistan when OBL was in Pakistan?

Did he get his "stan's" confused?

He did claim the USA had 57 states so it is possible.

And since you so steadfastly support it, you are a PRO-WAR Democrat.

Or to borrow a campaign phrase: "A Flip Flopper".

I hope you guys realize that there was little difference between the two administrations.

Bush implemented and Obama continued.....as should be expected.

The strategy of nation building espoused by both democrats and republicans need to be abandoned.

Bomb Afghanistan, remove the Taliban and get out...and let the afghans fight it out....and provide support to the appropriate side.

No need for Amerians to die.

It is also time to realize that Pakistan is an enemy..and pressure should have been placed on them to turn over Osama.

They know Pakistan is an enemy, but don't forget its position geographically we have to play "nice" with them and their official "religion".

Obama's War is a FAILURE on every front.

2,000 American lives lost and NOTHING has been accomplished.

You will note, that this Huffington Post contributor, never places the blame on Obama, never mentions his name.

Bush was 100% more successful than Obama, and yet, CNN, covers Afghanistan likes it a huge success for the peace loving Obama.

Bush took out Saddam while Karzai remains, the feared Iraqi Republican Guard was dismantled, Taliban is as strong as ever in Afghanistan, Bush build massive amounts o infrastructure, Obama has done next to nothing other than feed the NGO network.

But I hear NO OUTCRY from the anti-war Democrats about this travesty called Obama's War.

They were screaming at the top of their lungs for 8 years under Bush, but total silence under Obama's War.

Pathetic hypocrisy
