The thing I love about this book http://ufdc.ufl.edu/UF00077042/00001/1j is that you really get to see biographies of the major players in Haitian society in the 1920s under occupation as well as the foreigners that lived there as well. Also, a glimpse of early 20th century life.

I doubt there were colored photos back then.

Depi nan ane 1800 yo fotografi ankoulè te ekziste Fanm Kreyol! Se pa koulè ya ki fè'm panse se yon tablo atis. Menm si foto-a sanble yon foto ki pran anlè tankou nan yon avyon, tout moun menm gwosè, ke'l devan Palè ya ke'l jis pa anwo dèyè Tribin! Antouka, si se konsa Chalmas te sanble an 1920, ansyen mesye yo te gen plis vizyon pase nou!
