You can take a cocorat out of Haiti, but a cocorat it remains.

Descendants of Henri Christophe

Actually only three are reported to be descendants of the negro king.

oops make that five...forgat bimbo michelle was seeded by "white" benett...before her injection by basket head baby doc.

Bennett is her maiden name, and Alix Pasquet (her first husband/father of her first two kids) was Haitian.

Thanks for the correction...yes the "white" Pasquet.

I think she's aged terribly. Probably what she deserves.

Anyway so this has been confirmed as a Vorbe wedding right? They should have at least paid for a better photographer.

Ti-Homie, I think she has aged quite well and is looking her best at that "mature" stage.

Parasitic interbreeders.....the country is not for your kind, go back where you came from.

these people live, work and even marry in Haiti and you who sold out Haiti for the white mans dollar are telling them to go somewhere. You really make no sense.

Yes they inbreed......they stay in Haiti because in no other place would they be allowed complete rule over an actual nation/state......late 1980's, they openly said they won't allow "one man one vote" in Haiti...their fight to keep Haiti's minimum wage several times lower than the next lowest.

They orchestrate coup d'etats 1991 and 2004

They are foreign to the land..... foreign to the culture.....foreign to the majority of the people.

It pisses me off to see they've given themselves the right to use our historical site for their personal amusement.......

They're trying to cheapen our holy historical site

That site does not belong to them.......they should go back where they came from.

If the misery of Haiti’s poor is not caused by their nature, but by institutions, great is the sin.

Yes inbreeding.......but more than 95% of Haiti has to live in "their" 2012.

Is the great negro king who stood against the mulatto ruled south...turning in his grave????

I don't think so, he would have say something like " Bon nou pat vle wè'm, kounya se lakay am nou vini, nou kon bouch nou "

YEP!

I am confused by my HXers...don't these people have the right to rent or use this public gem? I can think of how middle class or rich blacks now can rent a colonial period mansion (especially in the south) for fabulous weddings? Should they worry about the past, the white owner or how the mansion was built of the backs of slaves and not host their events there? Or how about black migration into areas that they couldn't lived or worked before?

I see racism all over the snide commentaries that have been posted based on the pictures and frankly hypocrisy laced with a dash of jealousy. I'll tell you some black people, Haitians included like to cry racism this, racism that but all the while they suffer from the same mental illness.

LOL this isn't some colonial mansion. It's a UNESCO World Heritage site. A former royal residence for King Christophe. I don't think I need to say who he was. I guess that means nothing though. As the old saying goes money talks.

\
So what its a World Heritage site? Tourists trample all over these sites all over the world. Look at the Great Wall of China. Sans souci is actually under used. As long as it is structurally safe they should have events there. But it should be costly enough so that not just any group of kokorat can do it and that it helps fund the preservation of the site.

I think the problem is that some people here see a bunch of light skin people and go nuts. Ironic considering that most them live in Haiti and the critics here don't and some of these milat claim Christophe descent.

I guess my question is WHY must a place as historical as that be used by the general population? Why is it so accessible? Maybe its just me but are they throwing weddings at Abe Lincoln's home? Is Buckingham palace being rented out? Are the Grimaldi's renting out their palace for weddings and bar mitzvahs? Somebody let me know.

BTW this has nothing to do with color. I actually think the reaction would have been worse had they been negroes.

I dont think this type of event is open to the general public at Sans souci. But Buckingham Palace is open to the general public for tours. Many of the old aristocracy in Europe rent out or even sell their old castles. Mount Vernon is open for private events. Once you have the money doors open almost anywhere...its not always such a bad thing.

Buckingham palace is not open for private social events........for tours, yes, like a museum....people go and learn.....

The old castles that are being rented are private properties.......not nationally owned historic sites.......

These people so think Haiti is their private plantation......they don't even distinguish our little historical from privately owned properties......Bon Dieu!
