You don't kapeesh.

Moving "produce quickly through distribution chain or it rots"........which is exactly what should be done - move it from Haiti to Bahamas...instead of Haiti to USA then to Bahamas.

They save money - we make money.

Haiti becomes engaged in trade talks with other entities instead of the two parasites that control how much and where our products can go.

I hope Bahamians "CORNER THE MANGO MARKET" by paying world market prices for our mangoes.

However! Bahama cannot consume enough mangoes to corner the market because they don't have the population numbers to do it nor the distribution network.

Therefore, Haiti NEEDS the US market to move those mangoes downstream.

No US distributors means NO Haitian mango profits.

THANK GOD we're next door to the largest consuming market in the world!

Haiti must push, and aggressively so, to move deeper into US distribution networks.

It is one of Haiti's strategic advantages over the Asians.

You're talking about ignoring or bypassing it!

Ludicrous!

The Bahamians will purchase what they need.

The Americans will purchase what they need.

Country X will purchase what they need.

And Haiti will negotiate will each for terms that are beneficial to both seller and purchaser without the USA as a middle man to not only control our trade but to pass on the added cost of transportation.

What investment are you talking about?

Haiti was already selling this dried product to USA.......then it stops.....abruptly.

It is called: "fruit flies" or fecal matter beyond acceptable limits on the dried fruit.

Those sorts of things get you stopped "abruptly".

When the dried fruit handlers have no access to a commode, clean water or toilet paper; shit happens!

More than likely it was fecal matter that put a stop to it.

Get focused people. Think!

What would your hands look like without toilet paper, clean water or a commode?

Yes, it's an ugly thought, but it is what it is

Here's a follow up to the above as posted by and aid worker at a major hospital in PauP:.
