Gunner, are you happy? It is intolerance from people like you that taught these kids to pummel this young man to the point of losing sight out of one eye. Was one of the bullies one of your kids, nephews, students, or someone who looked up to you? It might as well have been since it is exactly your type of homophobic attitude that validates what these guys have done. I hope this young man sues the hell out of the city and gets Every single penny of the 16 million dollars he is asking for.

I have a young son and daughter, as well as an older gay nephew who I have looked after since he was an infant. I teach my kids to love and respect everyone, and I pray that my nephew never goes though anything close to what this young man has gone through. Thank God this Haitian kid has supportive parents who will not throw him to the wolves.

Woah this is a loaded post; I am not sure if or when Gunner ever advocated hate. It's a possibility I missed it.

For whatever reason I don't understand why the kids weren't being charged for assault....

Fantasma, it's not a question of advocating hate. It's a question of homophobic attitudes which give people 'permission' to disrespect and attack those who are different. I called Gunner out because he was the first one who came to mind. But Sekon Salye and others here are just as guilty.

Rachel what the hell are you talking about? They were calling him those names because he's probably a nerdy kid that gets picked on.This has nothing to do with gay rights. Kids call each other names but these animals went way too far. They should be charged as adults. And I hope Rubinstein gets them a nice settlement.

They are being charged. In NY minors charged with crimes are brought to Family Court. I would like to see them charged as adults but that not very likely...

Intolerance?

For that, you must turn to the Gay and Far Left communities in the USA.

They are the most hate filled groups in the country.

They make the skin heads look like choir boys.

I do not accept homosexuality any more than I accept adultery.

They are both sins of the body to me.

So when I hear an adulterer talking about his mistress, or a gay talk about his "partner", I simply walk away in disgust.

You Rachel, are the one seething with hate, not me.

Encouraging your nephew to live a life of sinful behavior is up to you.

But I do not have to accept it.

There is nothing admirable about homosexuality, I don't care what the liberal media tells me.

Regarding this child being beaten, justice will prevail on these kids and their parents.

But when you're filled with "hate" Rachel, you will look for any story, any opportunity, to let your fury fly.

Gays, and there supporters, live a life on a hair pin trigger.

Anxious to lash out with their hate filled rhetoric.

I pity them and you.

Christ message of inner peace is so much better than living a life of hate.

Kisa omofobik vle di? Dapre etimoloji-a sa vle di "rayi lòm", pa vre? Enben masisi pa moun. Si'm rayi yo, pa gen omofobi nan sa. Epi mwen rayi yo vre wi Nou mèt di sa fò!

"Homophobia is like racism and anti-Semitism and other forms of bigotry in that it seeks to dehumanize a large group of people, to deny their humanity, their dignity and personhood."

I dont think so..I find it insulting when people try to compare homophobia with racism. I have said gays are for the most part nice people and bring property value up..LOL.what they do in their house and carry on in public is there business but don't expect me to agree with it. They are even trying to make the super hero come out the closet. so disgusting as they are targetting the young and fresh mind to think this is normal behavior..teaching kids to like the same sex...
