Nostrand Avenue turned into Brooklyn’s Little Haiti on Sunday, May 24th, 2009 as floats traveled down the street for the annual Haitian Flag Day parade. This year, there appeared to be fewer floats and people in general, but the crowds picked up at the end as performances took place on a large makeshift stage at the end of the parade route. There were performances by the Mirkeline Dance Troupe, Dola, Chalè Mizik, and others. The evening ended with an energetic performance by Kreyol-La.
The film "New York" represents modern history about friendship against a city which often name the world centre. "New York" is one of such history of 3 young friends, whose beautiful the life has turned over head over heels large actions outside of their control.
