At least three children were killed and two others injured in Haiti on Thursday after mud-slides caused by heavy rains crushed a building.
The names of the children have not been released but they include a 3-month-old baby and a 6-year-old.
The rains led to rivers overflowing their banks in the capital Port-au-Prince.
Disaster officials have said the country is vulnerable to mud-slides and flash floods as most of the trees have been chopped down, leaving the area without protection from heavy rains.
Further heavy rains are forecast over the next few days.
Meanwhile, the World Food Program (WFP) has said it urgently requires funds to help feed Haiti’s poor.
WFP regional public information officer, Alejandro Lopez said the agency has a US$37 million shortfall in the budget anticipated for this year.
The WFP project feeds an estimated 1.7 million Haitians.
