Alexandre PetionSituated in the hills of the Massif de la Selle, overlooking the capital of Haiti, Petionville, was founded on September 22, 1831 by the Haitian president Jean-Pierre Boyer and named after Alexandre Petion, one of Haiti’s founding fathers.

Petionville It is one of Haiti’s most affluent areas, as well as an epicenter for restaurants, art galleries and hotels. It is generally cooler and breezier in its hills, making for welcome respite from a day in the city.

Within walking distance are some of the finest Haitian attractions, making this one of the areas where Haitian tourism would thrive. Petionville is the center of all gastronomic action. Restaurants offering French and American cuisine can be found right alongside local specialties.

Many businesses in Petionville are owned by Haitian Diaspora, enabling many visitors from the U.S. to find any item they may need to feel at home.
