A city of the West Department of Haiti, Simon extends as a suburb into the outskirts of Port-au-Prince. This small area of the city is part of the Port-au-Prince/ Airport/ Cite Soleil district. As you take a stroll down Simon you can see the commercialization of many of the homes along the way. Situated in heart of Port-au-Prince, people who live in Simon enjoy the lives experienced by middle-class Haitian society.
Simon, Port-au-Prince used to be an area labeled by the National Police and the UN forces (MINUSTAH) as a “RED ZONE” in Haiti. Now with revitalization efforts taking place, this area shows new promise.

Once an area infested with gang warfare Simon was a neighborhood no body wanted to enter.
Now Simon has been restored to order and business is conducted on a daily basis without fear.
Residents of Simon have the promise and hope that one day Haiti will turn back to its original beauty.
