Kriye Bode is a term that signifies the call to participate. Kriye Bode calls people to join together to dance, sing, drum and rejoice in the energy of life, as a community. As the artistic founder of Kriye Bode, Peniel Guerrier has dreamt of bringing this Haitian experience to the people of New York. The 4th Annual Colloquium on Haitian Dance and Drum took place on May 30th at the Alvin Ailey Dance Extension on West 55th Street in Manhattan. A dance workshop was presented by instructor Peniel Guerrier and Tamboula d"Haiti, followed by performances in the evening, which gave meaning to movements and rhythms discussed in the workshops.
During the course of the evening, certificates of recognition were also given to to Dr. Henry Frank, Dr. Chuck Davis, Jaques Mauricetal Fortera (Wawa) and Madame Emarante Despradines for their “Outstanding and dedicated service to the Haitian Culture”.
Admiring the time and effort you put into your blog and detailed information you offer! I will bookmark your blog and have my children check up here often. Thumbs up!
