New York. (May 22, 2009)—KREYOLFEST is only a month away and the preparations are in full swing. However there is one change in the line up that The Haitian Times – the festival’s organizers- would like to announce. The line up which previously included the following bands; Do-la, Model Kompa, Kreyol La, CaRiMi, Nu Look, Djakout Mizik, Barikad Crew, Djarara, Brother HI and ROCKFAM LAME A will no longer include ROCKFAM.

The decision to remove ROCKFAM was not an easy one. It came about when we were made aware by Barikad Crew’s reps that they would rather not share the same stage with ROCKFAM. Every effort was made by the organizers of KREYOLFEST to remedy the situation to no avail.

The Haitian Times is the petitioner for Barikad Crew and a part of the deal was to have the group perform at the festival. This was discussed a year prior. When the Haitian Times was contact by ROCKFAM’s reps to include them in the festival, we had no prior knowledge of the issues these two groups have had in the past. We soon realized this would not be an easy task and as the days started to close in on us, we decided to honor the first contract which was with Barikad Crew.
