There are many places to in Haiti which are worth a visit, and many provinces have activities during the summer season. The three that stand out are Fete Gele, Fete Saut D’eau, and Fete Plaine du Nord.

People flock to Haiti every year for its sunny climate, perfect waters, and excellent beaches. Along the beaches there is an unbroken line of attractions, hotels, and bars available for any number of visitors. The south coast is known for nonstop action all day and night, while the north coast with it rugged, desolate, and rocky landscape has resisted development.

Although the political climate is a bit uncertain, Haiti sees more the half a million visitors a year and is the perfect place for those seeking a nice climate, lots of culture, and great food. HaitianQueen, although not a Vodou festival per se, as you know, Vodou and Catholicism are very closely intertwined.

According to a website I just found "Saut d’Eau is a well, where legend has it that a Saint had appeared sometime in the past. It has become over the years, a place of pilgrimage for those who believe in the power of the supernatural."

So I'm sure people will still be catching LWA!

CoolP, I was under the impression that the July 16 pilgrimage was for a Catholic saint. I checked a website (i think saudeauinfo.com) and it said it had nothing to do with vodou, although some voudouisants also Catholics may be there.

Haitian Queen, I dont think there are any specific Vodou festival's but you can find a lot of rituals taking place in some of the festivals.

HaitianQueen, Saut D’Eau on July 16th is considered a big Vodou festival. I plan on being there for the first time and posting many pictures on HX. If anyone else is planning on being there, let me know and maybe we can meet up.

And you never know, I might go up there and

pran lwa!
