The Haitian Academy for the Performing Arts (H.A.F.T.P.A) was developed to be a prestigious organization that would raise awareness of Haitian fine arts. H.A.F.T.P.A ‘s vision is to recognize Haitians for their contributions in the production and promotion of music, film, and dance. Many years ago, Mr. Nemours Jean Baptiste had a vision that has both revitalized our music with a new style, known as Compas and renewed our reputation as one of the world’s great musical beats.
H.A.F.T.P.A has introduced an event, which shall be held annually, named COMPAS ON BROADWAY. This event is to recognize and honor the musical accomplishments of Haitian artists. Compas on Broadway shall also introduce new artists, while at the same time, showcasing our very best artists, bands, dancers and composers, through different styles of performances.
