Haiti Earthquake - Neg Maron

People have been asking me what the state of the Neg Maron statue was after the Haiti earthquake. I went to Champs de Mars to check up on it and despite the fact that it is still standing, was very unhappy with what I found.

Thanks finding My Neg after he blew into his conch shell. He put his machete down so wouldn't be afraid to take a close up shot of him! He knows he's not made of flesh & blood but he chose you to show the massive that he did indeed survive the Quake and that he is standing strong proud with his people even in such devastating surroundings, From his NYC Girlfriend, Statue of Liberty

Hey I like that...that's where Neg Maron belongs and what he represents...he's amongst the people, the poor, desperate during hard tough times...just like he was during the revolution...it is fitting in my eyes...when Haiti rises again he will still be there greeting his people
