The Road to Titanyin/Lafito: Route National #1
Once known for decades as a waste ground for dead bodies (similar to “Potter’s field”), Titanyin is a small town Northwest of Port-au-Prince. Although the land is mostly barren and dry, it is indeed a nice location.
For decades Titanyin has been a place where bodies of the poor who died of natural causes have been dumped by the Port-au-Prince city authorities. If you travel north of Port-au-Prince by land, on your way to the Cote des Arcadin beaches, or even on the way to Gonaives, St. Mark, or Cap-Haitien, you may have passed Titanyin without even knowing.
