On my last visit to Haiti, I got to visit a friend of a friend’s house in the excusive mountainside neighborhood of Montagne Noire. The house was so exquisite that I almost forgot I was in Haiti. The fact is that Haiti is a very cultural and artistic country, and therefore has plenty of spectacular interiors even in modest homes.
Unfortunately, in many neighborhoods, where gates are several yards tall as a response to the insecurity, many spectacular homes are completely hidden from view, causing passersby to only be able to guess what might lie hidden inside.
