I am going to send a letter to Levis Strauss to let them know the issues clearly, I am going to pull that Republican Slimfast Vs.Whoopi Golberg on Grupo M but I need support  from my fellow  Haitian brothers and sisters, this is how we must use our voice in the US to help our brothers in Haiti, Grupo is a Dominican company backed by American interest , Levis is an American backed by global affialiates , 60% of their revenues come from outsite the US , they do not want us to dirty their name as they are suffering from a brand issue. We should advocate they give another company in Haiti, the contract, and you could mentioned this new Congress   law to make your point.Nadine ,Lekamokin, Ape-man ,these are some I am will help with this cause, and I know you guys are articulate and diplomatic enough to make your points >Contact them now ,everybody  there are alternative companies that can   picked up after Grupo M, I also there is a South Korean conglomerate investor behind them ,we should try to make them run for the nearest boat to China because we would not accept their abuses.

ACTION REQUEST

Contact Levi Strauss

Tell Levi Strauss that they still have a role to play in resolving the labor dispute at their supplier in Codevi. Tell them that you expect them to take steps to see that:

- Grupo M reinstates all fired Codevi workers

- Grupo M moves production that has been moved from Haiti to the Dominican Republic back to Haiti

- Grupo M returns the production level at Codevi back to original levels (10 modules)

- Grupo M negotiates in good faith with SOKOWA

Yeah write to levis strauss, see if they care.  You think they don't know what's going on.  There's a reason why they choose certain countries to have their work done.  Se ak zam bagay sa yo chanje, tout moune pran zam yo epi komanse batay.

Real help, support and assistance allocated for Haitians from the USAID, EC, and NGOs always go to the others not the African Haitians (natives) Haiti is heaven for those Arabs who came pennyless and amass a lots of wealth in no time. Remember they receive preferential treatment from the white donnors. In Haiti they get social promotion (promotion social)

Kon Yo Rive Haiti Yo Konsidere Tet Yo Kom Blan. Arabs Sa Yo Ak Lot Zagribay Etranje Ki Vin Nan Peyi-a Abuse Febless, Ospitalite Pep Haitien-an Ki Pacific, Toleran Ak Vie Mannie, Eritaj Franse Kite Pou Nou.  Gin 1 ou 2 Ki Passab Min Majorite Etranje Sa-yo Kap Fai Et Defai Se Lougarou.

They never give us a chance. We need to organize to reclaim our country and defend our interest.

Please people  I am not asking to pick up guns because that won't solve a thing,I am asking people who  are very good articulating themselves and use diplomatic pressure to make Levis   know these workers are not alone ,the e-mail  and the  street adress are  above. The Arabs in Haiti  have not so much to do with this , it mostly Grupo M and Levis, and a small of Arabs and Haitians.Nadine , where are you on this?,Papaille   , I am convinced you could fired off agood letter.

Why should Arabs treat Black Haitians any different than they do Black Sudanese? What makes you believe those who gave this oppressor the contracts don't know that he is a sweatshop owner?

The gains made by labor in the US were through much blood, sweat and tears. You must be willing to fight and die for fair labor standards as your name “Batay Ouvriye” indicates. Moreover if your government cared, no foreigner could come and treat you as a “coolie”; and your fight should begin there and not with those who benefit from your exploitation. Batay Ouvriye must align with other labor organizations around the globe. Self-defense is a moral imperative.

"Who would be free, themselves must strike the blow. You know liberty given is never so precious as liberty sought and fought for. Depend upon it, men will not care much for a people who do not care for themselves."

                            Frederick Douglass 1843

Replace Arabs with Groupo M or any other oppressor such as: the church, Arpaid, Cathy lee Gifford et al...
