Stephanie, I understand where you're coming from. But L'amour should have known that her statement would invoke such emotional burst. It's hard to not take it personal.
There're so many bad stereotypes out there that it has become too sensitive to even mention a few things without getting that kind of over-reaction.
But I do agree with you. There're still more constructive ways to approach this without the personal stabbings here and there.
L'amour, what has prompted you to make such a comment? Is it past experiences? Personal observations of ALL Haitian guys you've met? Of all those who have approached you so far? I'm pretty sure you have a valid basis for your statement, whether right or wrong, but we all should know it.
There may be many of us who think the same way as L'amour but just don't have the guts to say it. The fact that she said it should be construed as an opportunity to cure a social disease that goes deeper than just the scratch of that one sentence L'amour wrote.
