HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLACK REPUBLIC

200 years ago today, November 18, a new race of men called Haitians sent Napoleon's troops running and put the fear into slaveholders the world over. A feat never to be repeated by any other group on Earth.

To those brave men and women that I am so proud to call my ancestors;

THANK YOU...THANK YOU......THANK YOU

My race: Haitian,  My religion; Haitian,  My language; Haitian,  My God; Haitian

I've heard all these wonderful words before. It is good that one can express himself in such a way. But there is hardly any substance behind the talk. To talk about a bicentennial celebration is totally ludicrous. I think instead that this should be a time of reflection so we can come up with concrete proposals for the years to come. Let's make a real effort not to give the demagogues here with us and in Haiti more opportunities to fool the majority because I truly believe the latter is willing to make the effort to save the nation as long as there is a leadership. A prime example is the fact that most people of haitian descent send approximately 1 billion dollars per year to Haiti to help their brothers and sisters. Unfortunately, there is no adequate system in Haiti to circulate that money so it can produce wealth locally.i

Pou repeter un des internautes, BONNE FETE HAITI CHERIE. BONHEUR, LONGUE VIE.

It is too bad that many of us are so misinformed about the history of Haiti. I certainly hope that some of you will pay attention and take a look at the real picture without emotion. I do not think it is a question of people of dark or light skin. After all, people of all skin complexion have caused damage to the country. This color thing is doing nothing but create confusion. There are authentic haitian families that have people of all skin complexion. What do you want to do? Destroy part of the family. It is about time we stop that nonsense.
