I actually think most issues are over blown not everything, "Vice city" is a prime example, im with Chemin on that one, I think if we organized our selves and displayed the same tenacity towards other problems we would be a little better off.
Long, emotional responses? I didnt think it was emotional at all.
Thanks for letting me know that Haiti and the DR share the same land, im shure HaitiXchange and myself will both benifit from this groundbreaking information.
I know about Haitians in the DR and I am sensitive to the plight of Haitians anywhere. But I do not have to go the DR to know they are treated badly. It doesnt surprise me attall, in fact I would be surprised if they were treated well. I dont think Dominican refugees are treated well in Puerto-Rico, people from Guatamala who go to Mexico to work are treated like crap also, this is a common occurence. When one nation doesnt have it's sh!t together, it becomes subject to abuse by other nations. If I heard that 200,000 Dominicans wanted to come live in Haiti, I wouldnt be happy, my response would be "cote nou pral met moun sa yo, pou ki sa yo pa ret la kay yo"! So im going to guess Dominicans feel the same way, much like the Bahamians. My point is that if they never see us, where are they going to find us to treat us like crap. The work should begin at home.
Now I understand that the DR is using our situation to take advantage of us, my Grandmother told me that they come over the border with chemicals to kill our crops so they can sell us they're crops. Im pretty shure the U.S. is backing the DR in the same way it backs the opposition in operation "Undermine Haiti Democracy". I would love to see the day when Haiti can intelligently over come it's enemies. It pains me that elected officials in Haiti are letting the DR use our land so it can set up shop and take advantage of us at a much closer range. I guess when your in a subjugated state, you start to think of yourself in terms of that subjugation and begin to operate with in it. The U.S. is a different story, but we gottta, I repeat we gotta let the DR know ki es ki bosss, cuzz obviously they dont know us and maybe we dont know us either.
The above is based on third world politics. Now back to the issue.
Do All Dominicans hate Haitians?
To me this is a stupid question. As a human being, I know how to seperate politics from people and situations and assuming that most Dominicans are people, im pretty shure they do too. If im playing basketball by myself and a Dominican wants to play me, im not going to say hell kno! or bring up History and politics. Do I go seeking Dominican freindship, what for? I dont see the point. Do I care if Dominican's hate me, hell no, it dont stop me from makeing money. Most people on HaitiXchange are politicaly aware and the subjects run along lines that indicates something political, Most people arent like that. A Title "like Do all Dominicans hate Haitians" is ridiculous given that we live in a climate where a Haitian and a Dominican can be in the same class, both like Jay-Z, Roca-fella, 5o cents and smoking weed. There is to many unifying factors in urban America for this question to be legitimate and for the countless people who posted on there to take it seriously. I dont like when people throw a big negative blanket over Haiti, or speak in such general terms with no regard for the particulars and nuances of the subject or situation. Shure you may kno what you mean, but for the many who are new to this, impresionable and dont read between the lines, the title is way to inflamatory.
