Hello to all,

Just wondering if anyone knows if for sure Haiti will still be celebrating with the Mardi-gras with all the chaos going on?  I am scheduled to travel, but I don't think that it safe right now.  Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.  Does anyone know if for sure Mardi-gras is ON or OFF?

HaitiXchange will be going to Kanaval next week to bring you all the sites and sounds of Kanaval 2004. Also, look out for a special Kanaval section of the web site that we are working on. (Should be available tomorrow.) There is also a very popular Kanaval song by a group called Vwadezil which mentions HatiiXchange. We'll have information on all this and more in the Kanaval section of HX....So yes, Kanaval is definitely on!

Life goes on. As Tibob de Nazareth says it's 5 days of Carnival. Everyone is entitles to express themselves freely. Haitian people will have their carnival their way they deserve a break from all that violence. The born again christian community has revivals, evangelical crusades and special activities for the youths while the rest of the population have Carnival & Rara. The irony is the Group 184/Opposition who oppose everything in the country have alternative. With all that money they're getting from the European community and IRI they can afford to sabotage the country. The majority of the population has nowhere to go but the beton. Let's spend our money in Haiti. Support people who supportus.
