The organizers of Brooklyn's Labor Day Parade seem to be having beef with Haitian's his year. They claim that we do not represent with pageantry, that we basically come wearing T-Shirts and are not "colorful" enough. According to the Haitian Times, this year, they are basically trying to bar Haitians from coming onto the parkway!

HaitiXchange along with other volunteers, will be helping the Haitian Times put on a spectacular show this year. Djakout Mizik will be present, and we are specifically looking for masqueraders and people to wear costumes. If you are interested, please either contact HaitiXchange, or the email and number below. This year, the parkway will be "da bomb!!!"

Email: bellekreyol@hotmail.com or call (917)406-5545

Make sure you give us your name, telephone number and contact info.

Oh you've gotta be kidding!! They can't be hatin' on us. We attend the parade in force. You know how it gets when a Haitian float goes by....deblozay nan kay la!!! We always represent. They can't keep us from the parade.

Nonsense,

We need to take this to court and stop the parade alltogether. It is a Caribbean parade representing different islands and their carnival traditions.

In Haiti we wear shirts and decorate our floats.  Here are the options; allow us to parade with our shirts, have one parade after the other; the Caribbean followed by the Haitian, or give us our own parade.

I think the tax payers of New York would want to keep this whole thing in one parade, one day.

I beleive that what they are doing makes perfect sense.

Every year, we jam up the parkway with no sense of Culture; all we have is Haitian T-shirts, and Flags. We should be a model for all the caribbean. I would like for you people to take a look back at how we handle our KaNAVAL in Ayiti.

We have the Culture-full of color

We have the beautiful women with gro-dada

and we have the guys to complete the March.

It would not take much from us to do it. All it demands is to volunteer your time, bring your creativity and let the word out.

All of you talking about hatin' and take to court are acting ignorant.

We look like a bann of chwal ki kase kod sou pakwe ya

We must, this year, show what we are about-especially that we are at the corner of a big celebration of the birth of our nation.

Think about it

Isn't it a bit too late to organize something soo big and creat beautiful costumes?  We only Have one month ahead.

Carl I agree with you.

I would wear a costume to the Parade, but I can't dance, I have two left feet

Anyways we will be the best as always.   I saw the ad in the Haitian Times and I think the Haitian Time is doing beautiful things.

WE KNOW WELL THAT IT'S KINDA LATE; HOWEVER, THIS SHOULD NOT BE OUR FOCUS. IF WE ARE PROPOSING TO DO IT, IT'S BECAUSE, IN MY VIEW, IT IS POSSIBLE.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, GIVE US YOUR PARTICIPATION. GET INVOLVED. DONT TRY TO DISCOURAGE US WITH THE TIME CONSTRAINS. WE KNOW VERY WELL THAT TIME IS FLUID, AND THEREFORE NOT STATIC. THUS THE TIME WE SPEND THINKING OR COMPLAINING ABOUT IT IS VERY CRUCIAL. LETS GET TO WORK MY FRIENDS AND MAKE HISTORY

Wyclef, Pras , Garcelle Beauvais, Tony Yayo  with The G-Unit Crew and other Haitian celebrities out there COME SHOW SOME LOVE FOR YOUR COUNTRY .Wyclef,I know you came before but sometimes the other  local  bands groups be hating on you because you promote hip hop and other type of music. Hatians to realise  we must infuse and exchange freely with other cultures. Kompa is  good music but there is one reason why it has not taken off like reggae is beacause we only want to exhange with other caribbean people.Kompa has to build its mass appeal not Sony France signing up Tabou Combo. It will never happen unless Sony sees a  demand for it. So  Wyclef takes the stage and give some hip hop, Mizik Mizik should fire the crowd up in the backgroung with some  " hoy yo  men nou " .Wuclef is an attraction by the media and the crowd because he has mass appeal. Celebrities bring some money to fund the program, we support  you enough. Damn.
