“ That kid from Miami lost to the French guy.Haiti had one of the smallest delegation  to the Olympics , while other smaller countries and even other cash strapped governments had a bigger delegation, that's just you again that Haiti's private sector  does not care about Haiti and its image. As long as they could make  with  the  4 million  people who have purcharsing power in Haiti, and can influence  corruption in the government. They do not care.Haitel,Comcel ,Deschamps, Sogebank, Unibank, The  auto dealership people could have sponsored more teams if they could find a way to work  with Haiti's education and sports minister, The Haitian Olymipc Commitee, the Different Haitian sports and international federation. Why are  not represented in volleyballl for instance? What swimming? We live on an island yet we can  not produce swimmers, how scary. “

Did you see the opening ceremony?  A lot of countries had 4 or 5 people representing them.  Some only had 1 and others had none.  I think we had about 12 to 15 people representing Haiti.  Why asked why?  Right now we should be supporting our team.  Haiti lost by one point to France.  You said we live on an island and why can’t we produce a swimming team?  Are you saying for them to go practice in the sea?  Guest just look our condition right now, you really think at this time in our history we can make it to the Olympics swimming with teams like the US, China, Austrialia?

A training camp plus coaches plus materials cost money, money that we do not have.  I believe thing are on its way to change and people need to change their way of negative thinking as well.

“That kid from Miami” guest a lot of the people representing the US are from other countries,  some of those representing the US are from Haiti also.

We have a long way to go, but we have to start somewhere.  I’m Proud of our team and I was even prouder pointing to the television set and saying, “yeah, this is my team, there representing Haiti” to my none Haitian friends.  We are not perfect but we should celebrate what we have now and lift them up as high as possible so the young kids growing up can be inspired.

We have the able body people but the training means are not there yet. If we show interest in our players right now, support them and support their sponsors,  others like “Haitel,Comcel ,Deschamps, Sogebank, Unibank, The  auto dealership people” would jump on the boat as well.
