I have been living in the US since 1965. I emigrated because in 1963 the regime of Papa Doc arrested and murdered my father and uncle. No one in my family has really dealt with this loss and its effect on us. In a recent memorial service marking the 40th anniversary of this tragedy, there were many tears from the surviving spouses and children. Still I know the family has not yet exorcised the demons thrust upon each and everyone of us that day in 1963. Moreover, the fact that no remains have ever been returned or buried will force this chapter in our lives to remain open until the last one of us who lived through this tragedy makes the transition from the physical realm. Since that day, I have met many compatriots whose parents in one way or another served the Duvalier regime. Others have long intimated that a particular macoute whom I will not name bears responsibility for terminating the lives of those men on whom a large extended family depended. However years later, knowing this macoute’s child was nearby in the US and I, at the time having a number of "gangster" friends and being a bit reckless myself, still did not visit the sins of his father upon him. In the same way, I have no animosity towards anyone except persons with blood stained hands such as a Toto Constant for example; and would work only to exclude such persons from participating in an official capacity in Haïti.

I write all this to say I do not understand the "player hating" going on in Haïti currently. Who amongst those who currently oppose Mr. Aristide is without sin. I submit to participants in this forum that their sins are currently increasing at a geometric rate by the stubborn way they conspire with the enemies, within and without, of the Haïtian people to perpetuate the misery index. Where else in this world is the elected government rendered powerless by malcontents who for one reason or another believe one of them should be president? Where else in this world is the elected government rendered powerless by other states to the detriment of its people? After all, the money owed Haïti that Mr. Aristide needs to run the affairs of the state belongs to Haïti and is not charity. To that end I propose that the next time we elect a president, the Haïtian people should endeavor to DECHOUKE any shadow government, their representatives and supporters as long as they conspire to increase their misery. That is why I say: yes to a benevolent dictatorship every five years. Talk to me people!

I am sorry that  your family have been killeded by the criminals; father and son baby doc and his tonton macoutes. I understand your pain, my aunt was arrested and spent many years in jail under the Duvalier acused of being a comunist like thousands of other young intellectuals have been murdered in Cap Haitian. Thank God my aunt survived the ordeal and now live in Brooklyn, NY. You want to hear horrible stories talk to her and other victims of the Duvaliers and his tonton macoutes. To see the opposition, guys like KPlim who was severely beaten by tonton macoutes team up with Rebu and other mercenaries and front men from the 184 is sad. The paper who yesterday denounced the Duvalier is today supporting his allies. One wonders what is going on in this folks minds, opposition figures like Bajeux, political leaders from different tendencies are joining forces to stop the emergence of democracy in Haiti. They refuse to obey the laws, the constitution, to fulfill their civic duties, campaign and participate in the electoral process. Each one of them hope to see the US and the international community get rid of the duly elected government of President Aristide and give the power. Hum! They are financed and joining forces with the enemy of Haiti former slave owners, colonizers who never forgive Haiti for its independence. There is no way to compare President Aristide to the former dictators and strong men who led before him. Today we have the emergence of democracy in Haiti. Its all started under his administration. Also great historical moments in Haitian history are happening now, Haiti bicentenial 200 years of our flag. We need help to build and develop our country do you realize that the insecurity is finance by the enemy of Haiti both Haitians and foreigners who resent the fact that the colour people of Haiti want to commemorate their freedom and take over their destiny. From november 17 at the eve of the Haitian flag a series of unprecedented political events started in Cap Haitian by the opposition. Killings and other forms of sabotages have taken places in Haiti. American terrorist "pastor" smugles arms to back up the opposition to create more insecurity in Haiti. The elite who has Haiti's fortune and fit in the look alike are lobbying the Bush admisnistration. Only one side is heard, the big money, the anti Haitian. But President Bush will not overthrow the elected government of Haiti for many of us citizens didn't vote him in office for that. Do Haitians really want to go back to the dark days of the tonton macoutes? We know better than that soon it will be election time in the US and US foreign policies will be evaluate. We want dmocracy and freedom of choice, freedom to rebuild our country not the USAID to make the decision for us in Haiti. Down to the enemies of Haiti. God will continue to provide for his children in Haiti.

Daniel Ulysse

bondye fe tou,gen ayisyen ak ayisyen ki we kle la.

pwoblem ayiti,se vye ayisyen apatrid ak etranje nan peyi a avek ti elit boujwa tilolit yo,kap mete ensekirite pou destabilize pouvwa pep la.

bon pou'm fini m'ap salye Daniel ulysse pou konpreyansyon li.

pwoblem ayiti se pa lavalas,ni aristid,se konplo etranje ak elit ayisyen yo(milat rasist) pou ayiti pa fete 2004 li a,e pou neg ayisyen pa janm rive anyen ,pou peyi li toujou rete nan mize, yon fason pou yo toujou pran bato vin miami, epi mete yo nan prizon krom.

je ayisyen klere konnyeya.etranje ou met sote ponpe sa pap pase.(nou konn sekre ya)
