I told you this was gonna happen. Medical student, you're a smart guy, but if you do not register, anyone can (and did) impersonate you, and there is absolutely no way way for the rest of us to be sure that you are who you say you are.

Look at what's happened. You guys were having an excellent and civil debate, and this imposter has taken both you and Kreyolbro, 30 steps back. If you register, nonesense like this cannot happen.

This person is pulling your leg and playing around with you and all you can mention is that he/she is spelling things wrong or that he/she is ignorant of medical school practices. He/she is just trying to create confusion and has been successful in making you guys fight each other.

Both of y'all are gettin'played! (Especially the med student.)

As a black American Christian it seems amusing to hear so much defensive attitudes for voodoo. Some seems to think I must "KNOW" a lot about it before I condemn it. I do not have to know anything about it before I condemn it. I just have to ask a question.

Can anyone tell me the cultural, economical or educational benefit for practicing Voodoo? Show me a nation or people that has prospered with this practice. It seems to be a culture of poverty everywhere it dominates. I may be wrong but it seems to be a celebration of poverty. Show me the blessings to the people (anywhere in the world) for accepting Voodoo in the culture.

Then, I will show you that every Christian nation (the good ones and the not so good) are prospering. The people can feed themselves and the world benefits from the culture. Where can I find a successful, healthy, respected Voodoo nation or culture. I am not being critical, just trying to be logical. HIstory has shown me that a Voodoo temple in NY will bring poverty to the community. I may be wrong, so I am asking for the evidence. Thanks. CAM

Ha ha ha. If only the relationship of Voodoo to the rest of society were that simple. So you're saying that the simple fact that this Voodoo temple has popped up in the middle of Brooklyn, will bring poverty to that particular community. Ha ha.

black christian;

Lets use your same line of reasoning.   There are no successfull negro  countries, should they all switch to white rule.

Using your reasoning again on the micro level. black americans as a christian group should do better than newly arrived non christian groups. Fact is only American Indians fare worse than blacks.  Almost every immigrant group christian, or non christian do better than your people in this country.

There are non christian prosperous nations; japan, Korea, Singapore, Israel, etc.   What is your view on these societies.

Another wample lets only look at blacks in Africa.  The oldest black christian society Ethiopia should have surpassed every other country on that continent.   It is near the bottom.

European enlightement, freedom from religion, free thinking people brought the revolution that allows the west to enjoy the highest standard of living.

You have a debt of gratitude towards all white men (christians, JEWS, non believers, atheists, etc.)  for giving you everything you have today.

It all comes down to brain power; you can be as christian as you like, you and your people will never do better then Islamist Arabs, Budhist Indians, Taoist Japanese, and yes Vodouist Haitians living in this country.

Finally; the Vaudou issue is something that Haitians will settle. We will decide if it is a religion.  We will decide wheter to change it or not.  Unlike you we do have choices.

with brotherly love

answer for the black american christian: there seem to be some cultural advantages for practicing voodoo in haiti...it brings the people together...create a sense of unity...haitian ceremonial rituals...keeps african heritage ... influence haitian music. however, it also have some bad cultural advantages... it is not recognized as a religion... associated with evil...even voodouist acknowledges its evil power...the priests of the belief are uneducated ... cannot read or write... ceremonies seem pagan-like to non-voodoo worshipers... it promotes ignorance that is prevalent in haiti. There are no economic or educational benefit for practicing voodoo... it not a belief that is based on theory... does not promotes knowledge nor education like christianity... it appeals to some haitian because they cannot read or write and some educated haitian-america...the belief does not care about that... most of all, it does not promote good human conduct ...like christianity... it is like you did me wrong i am going to kill you with white powder or some voodoo magic... there are no country that prospers with this practice... most voodoo countries are in w africa... poor with political problems... some practice in jamaica... other carribean nations to a small extent... and even brazil... but really not good for any  country.

People please, its OK to question the man's sexual preferance but do we have to use words like "faggot".   Gay or Homosexual is the proper term.
