Got to Haiti without incident and met up with Real Louis (president of HaitiXchange's Haiti Division) and Ginior Felix (HaitiXchange correspondent in Haiti.) Already things were off to a great start with our coverage of of Tropical Fiesta which was held at Bo Jeux Parc in Tabarre. Performers included T-Vice, Konpa Kreyol, and many others. The corwd was large and all had a good time. It was one of the many festivities being held in Haiti around this time. Everywhere we go, there are mini concerts, outdoor festivals and other events.

Later this week, we'll be going to O Kay for Fete Gelee, which should be a lot of fun. We're will also be visiting Kreyolbro's mom who is expecting us since O Kay is his home town!! (We'll give all of you a full report.) As I mentioned before, we will have a lot of pictures "Anpil Foto" (and also video) to show everyone what it was like.

We're also completing reserach for a trip that HaitiXchange is sponsoring to Haiti in late December. Stay tuned to the site for more information on that. Anyway, gotta go. Cybercafe time is running out and I gotta go catch that Tap-Tap!!!

Peace!

Hey everyone, guess what? We are in Okay at Kreyolbro's mom's house!!! (Kreyolbro, you gave us the wrong house number, but we found it anyway!) As is customarily Haitian, we are being treated with much hospitality. Fete Gelee was a lot of fun (it isn't over yet, but we have to get back to Port-au-Prince today.)

Anyway, someone tell me about this blackout that rocked the North East. People here are talking about it, but I haven't yet heard much info except for the fact that planes going back to NYC aren't following their regular schedules. Hope everything's ok by the time I leave.

Anyway, talk to you guys soon. We'll be back with "Anpil Foto".

Signing off from Okay, Haiti.

We're back in New York and I will be posting a lot of information about our trip to Haiti. This was probably the most productive trip we've had to date. We made a lot of excellents contacts, were interviewed on TNH and TeleMax, and a couple of radio stations, and solidified an itinirary for the HaitiXchange trip to Haiti in December. Look out for plenty of informaion on what happened during the following days.

The Northeast blackout did cause a lot of residual delays (I am just now getting home!!) And my main computer doesn't seem to want to turn on (definitely blackout related) so bear with me while I put things in order.

Haiti's not the only place to suffer from "Blakawout!!"
