Because in a free society people have a right to want to look like a grimelle if they want to.   And in a capitalist society I should be able to sell it as long as it is legal.

Black women should be free to look however they want, hair extensions, bleaching creams, colored contact lenses etc.  And i hope someone will grow rich selling it to them.

So while you want Haitian society to advance, you want us to also support the ensecurities of our women? You want to support self abhoration? I find that to be one step forward and two steps back.  While, we all have the right to kill ourselves, I don't believe we all should go right ahead. That said, I believe that all that we have a right to do should be approached with some thought don't you think?

Haitian women have a right to look like grimelles, but the right that is most interesting, is the right to love your own skin color.  If we are getting rich off of our women's insecurities, then we are no different from the foreigners that do not care about us. I say we should condone the use of such creams that are actually damaging to the skin. Ladies, if you know somebody who is using this cream, encourage them to stop.  When I have time, I will post some info about how terrible these creams are to your skin.  My beautiful chocolate skinned Haitian women don't need that bull.  Renmen tet nou!

Haiti is not the only country with this problem. Jamaica, and various African nations are going through the same thing.  The Jamaicans sing against it though. This is why I admire them alot. They love their women! They have songs that are against using bleach, and when you look at dancehall videos, you can see that they are showing that i'm a Jamaican and my women look like this and that is fine with me. Take a look at the dancehall videos! You will see what I mean.

Ladies, you don't have to like or love what you were born with. If you appreciate another race's features and you can afford it, go for it.  Bleach as you please, straighten your noses and your hair ....a lot of things we do in life is damaging in the long run.  So what, it is a short life if it makes you feel good do it...you are not here to save a whole race or to make other people feel good about themselves..it is too late for that.   It is all about YOU.

Have fun, bleach away, straighten that kinky african hair, wear your contacts.  This will get you in videos and CD covers and in the movies. The mulatto look is in and it looks like it is here to stay.  Life is about having fun and enjoying yourselves.
