...Pascal get with it man, you are about to lose credibility with us .This site can do better, you could turn it into the next Yahoo.com if you start doing the right things.
If I've lost credibility with you because of posting pictures of an event at which Aristide was present, then I can't do anything for you. If you don't like it, you can go to Sakapfet.com and read all about T-Vice!
HaitiXchange is not a "political" site, but as everyone knows, you cannot speak about Haiti without talking about politics. As was mentioned in another thread, we are non-partisan, but try to provide unbiased reports of all types of events as they occur. We rarely cover political events. In the case of Aristide visiting New York City, we posted pictures of the event in order to show what it was like for people who were not there...that's all. According to you, it sounds like we should have pretended the whole thing just didn't happen.
As far as Sakapfet.com goes, I love them! More power to them. They have worked very hard to make a name for themselves in the world of Haitian web sites. Who would have guessed that Haitians would take to the Internet which such fervor! When I started this site, people told me not to waste my time because Haitians do not use computers. Well, it took a site like Sakapfet to encourage me and show me that I should continue and not give up.
But for anyone who visits many Haitian web sites, you will notice that they are all different and all attract a different crowd. Everyone is looking for something different, so with over 12 Million Haitians in the world and scores of Haitian web sites, there is something for everyone. The launch of every new Haitian web site legitimizes our presence on the Internet and gives all of us many more options to choose from. The internet is the one real equalizer which lets average people, inexpensively reach millions. It is the one medium that can help improve other's images of us and our country as well as our image of ourselves.
So, go for it! Visit and support all the Haitian web sites you can. If you do not like this, or any other web site, just remember that the next one is no more than a click away!
My personal favorites are (I think these sites are interesting, exceptionally well maintained, and organized):
- www.HatiiXchange.com (of course)
- www.haitianconnection.com (check out my homepage: "coolP")
