Lynoue,

Souplè, bliye vye konvesasyon sa-a! This is an old conversation and we've all moved on. But I do have to say, "Chapo ba" because you are the only one who has actually given the good doctor a descent answer to his question....(even though you couldn't resist attacking me at the end of your post.) You'er a good person.

In the meantime, this Doctor ain't even thinking about this forum, HaitiXchange, or even Haitians for that matter and has clearly moved on realizing there was no help to gotten over here.

I need to start creating my Paj Pam so you folks can see who the heck I am!!!

KoKorat is a "BEUF Chain".

Kokorat, I have a question for you.  What was the president's name in 1976.  (Haitian president)

Retebel3,

This thread was started on June 9th and here you are all late (almost two months late) trying to diss me. I've also noticed you going from discussion to discussion, putting people on full blast and calling them "Bande De Kokorat" (which is kinda funny.) Give it a break though, before we start calling you "Retelèd3"

By the way, the haitian president in '76 was Jean Claude, and if you're trying to crack jokes by comparing me to him in any way, you need to save the drama..pou manman'w!

Just as I expected.  My question was simply a test.  Test concluded and you have failed....miserably.  Poor Kokorat.  In review, if you go back to the question, I asked you " What was the president's Name...."  and not WHO WAS the president.  This clearly shows that you need to think before you do anything.  Class is over Kokorat, I hope you learned something.  You are also showing your "weakness".  Here's the proof: "Give it a break though, before we start calling you "Retelèd3".  Do I need to explain myself?  I'll give you a hint......THE "WE" IN ABOVE SENTENCE. If you study it real close, you'll understand.

Ciao!

P.S.  I'm dissin' EKRITU", NOT "MOUN".

Nice try but no prize.  The way you phrased your question left it open to inerpretations.   What was the President's name in 1976?    Do we change the president's name over time....   no we change the president.    If that particular president had his name changed during a certain period of time, you would then be correct.

His error was with prefacing it with "the president was";  he should have just said "Jean Claude Duvalier".   If he had said "the president's name in 1976 was Jean Claude Duvalier, that would also have left it open to interpretations. Did he have a different name?, did he change it the next year?...the president was xxx but his name in 1976 was xyz...and so on.

It is similar to answering a question on the TV show Jeopardy whitout phrasing it in the form of a question.  The answer is correct but the rules were not followed.

It is a cute little excercise that shows that most of us do answer before we absorb the actual wording of a question.  It however has no reflection on Kokorat's intelligence or his level of knowledge.   A machine or an idiot with the correct answer would have answered it exactly the way you wanted. A thinking Kokorat however evaluated and answered on his own terms.

Try another one...

Very well, kreyolbro.  Au contraire, let's try this again.  The same question.

I asked him, "What was the president's name in 1976 and not who was the president?"

A:  The president's name was Aristide.

More clarification:

Who is the president now?  Aristide, right? What was his name in 1976?  Aristide, right?  I wanted to trick him and I succeeded.  I hope now, you  understand where I was coming from.

Retebel3,

That's cute, but your little, 4th grade trick, Cracker Jack box questions don't really impress me. Just what we need on this site, another thinks-he-knows-it-all Haitian. Come back with some real knowledge and insight in order to earn some respect.

And again...give it a break, before we start calling you "Retelèd3. Yes, I wrote "we" meaning myself and several other people in here. What part don't you understand?

Since we're nit-picking, you wrote "P.S.  I'm dissin' EKRITU", NOT "MOUN"."

In Kreyol,"EKRITU" is written with an "I", not a "U". It's "Ekriti"...look it up.

You're messing with the wrong Kokorat!
